Could I use a bread machine on this JUST to mix the dough?
I asked this an hour or so ago but I think the answerers were confused. I don’t want to cook it in the bread machine, I just want to mix the dough in there. From what I’ve read it’s quite hard to work with a takes forever, so I want to do it quicker with the bread machine. Would it work?
Dough:
3 egg
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
To make the dough, beat together the eggs and sour cream until smooth. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder; stir into the sour cream mixture until dough comes together. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until firm and smooth. Divide the dough in half, then roll out one half to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into 3 inch rounds using a biscuit cutter.
Forgot to add again: This is for pierogi/dumpling dough.
Most bread machines have a setting that lets you stop it when the dough is ready for baking, before the machine begins its bake cycle. Worst case, when the dough looks right, press the cancel button or pull the plug!
